For sale is this beautiful piece of Americana from the arcade hey day of the late 70 S. a very nice and 100 percent working Captain Fantastic pinball made by Bally. If you know pinball then you know what this machine is all about. If you aren t familiar with pinball but want a nice piece of equipment for your gamroom mancave bar basement etc. then this would be a great addition. This pinball is one of two made by Bally that tied in with the Who s Rock Opera tommy. It features Elton John as the pinball champ on the backglass playing in his outrageous platform shoes and star glasses. The artwork is by Dave Christianson who is legend in the pinball world for his somewhat risque at least for the era images and hidden scenes. Being one of the last electromechanical games to be produced these games featured a lot of cool stuff before the advent of solid state electronics and digital sound took over arcade games. 4 flippers drop targets rollover and standup targets a ball save gate extra ball feature over the top feature several playfield specials etc. Captain Fantastic is basically the pinnacle of Electromechanical Pinball and is very collectable due to all the tie ins. Late model top of the line Bally game The Who s Tommy Elton John.. It s always in demand and commands very high prices in top condition to this day.This particular game is a survivor. Everything is original on it except for the rubber and bulbs. I ve completely overhauled the game by stripping the playfield cleaning polishing and waxing it so it shines nicely. All mechanical parts were cleaned and adjusted as were the switches so everything works as it should. New rubber and bulbs in the entire game and the score reels were cleaned and adjusted as well. New lock and key sets for the coin door and back box are installed and if the buyer wants to take this even further I can install any or all of the following: New reproduction pop bumper caps new plastic set new flippers new drop targets etc. Game comes with a manual and new pinball. The playfield shows very very minor wear at the inserts and a small amount of planking up at the top rollovers. The cabinet is in very nice shape with age related scuffs and scrapes nothing major or structurally wrong with it. The best part is of course the backglass. Alone these are sought after just as an art piece and can for 500 bucks or more! This one is in perfect shape. No lifting flaking cracking peeling etc. zero issues with it. All the mirroring is intact and the colors are all as vibrant as the day it was printed.Please contact me with any questions.
